Slide 1

E-learning is a very particular kind of learning. The routines of traditional kinds of training, such as apprenticing, tutored learning, mentoring, class scheduling etc, may not apply. Experience with e-learning shows that simply making knowledge available online seldom achieves effective learning.

Z/Yen has in-house expertise on best practice online teaching. We will always apply the principles of good e-learning, which include techniques for active learner engagement, embedding learning within social and professional networks, learning reinforcement, variety of media formats, help at point of need etc.

The quality of your e-learning pedagogy is assured at Z/Yen by senior consultant Stephen Haggard, a fully accredited FlexTrainer along with consultants Leonor Fishman and Stephanie Rochford.

Stephen Haggard has held senior executive roles in Distance Learning at The Open University and the BBC, and has delivered major online learning projects for clients such as Ufi, and Cambridge University Press. He consults widely on e-learning projects for business, for schools and for Universities.

Stephen also works as an independent e-learning consultant on distance learning projects for clients including University College London, Cambridge University Continuing Education, MoD, Bausch & Lomb, Learning & Teaching Scotland, NESTA and The Higher Education Funding Council. For clients such as these he has overseen the creation of e-learning courses on content ranging from professional learning, to medicine, and from ESOL (English as a Second Language) to Science.
